Well most planters have gone plateless, the older planters required plates for each different type of seed. Deer plot people and smaller farms still need the plates. Or, hang them on the wall, as they make cool decorations too.
No breaks, cracks or repairs to any of the older cast iron John Deere planter plates.
Do your own research on which plate you would need.  I can list what each is used for but you need to determine which one it is you need.
H694B is common small corn 16 cell
H695B is common medium corn 16 cell
H696B is common large corn 16 cell
H697B is extra small corn 16 cell
H1267B is medium Argentine corn, sweet corn etc. and extra large hybrid corn 16 cell
H1933B is medium round pointed hybrid corn 16 cell
H1302B is common small corn and is 24 cells compared to all the others which are 16 cells.
