Description
This nice volume is the ''65th Lions Clubs International Convention'' held June 30-July 3, 1982, in Atlanta, Georgia. It includes scores of photos of events, delegates, attendees and representatives of 153 countries or geoographical areas of the free world participating in a parade up Atlanta's famous Peachtree Street. Among those pictured are Lions Club International president Kaoru (Kay) Murakami and his wife, Shoko; Pope John Paul II; former President Jimmy Carter; Atlanta Mayor Andrew Young; incoming Lions International president Everett J. ''Ebb'' Grindstaff, and others.
The hardcover volume measures 8 3/4 by 11 1/4 inches and contains 96 pages. It is well-illustrated with full-color photographs. The boards are purple cloth with gilt lettering and a foil pastedown on the front. The boards show some dustiness, the name of a previous owner is written inside the front board, and there is foxing to the first and last pages and the backs of the endpapers, but otherwise the volume is in nice shape.
