    Description

I will combine shipping on multiple wins. Please allow me time after an auction ends to figure the total amount, or you may contact me to request a total once you are all done.
If you are into bushcraft, wodcraft, fieldcraft and such, you are familiar with George Washington Sears, who wrote a series of articles for Field and Stream magazine in the 1880's under the pen name "Nessmuk." He described the knife he carried, which has become a classic in its own right. Well, someone decided to fashion his own nessmuk, and started with a long Sexter baking spatula in carbon steel, and ground it to shape in the nessmuk style. While the spine is a bit straight, the design is pretty close to the nessmuk knife, and the carbon steel takes a good edge and is easy to re-sharpen. Repurposing tools is something Nessmuk would have approved of. It has a carbon steel blade set into a solid wood handle and attached to the tang with 2 large brass rivets. It has been used and sharpened, is sharp and ready for use now. There are some dark spots and speckling on blade from old rust, and some light pitting, nothing active now. Like all carbon steel knives, with should be wiped down with food grade mineral oil after use to prevent rust. Like all wood handled knives, it should not be put into a dishwasher - ever. See pictures for condition. Stamped into wood of handle "24912F  DEXTER"
Overall length 10-3/4", measures 5-1/2" from tip to handle. Contact me if you have any questions or concerns. Thanks for looking, and good luck!
