Elaborately decorated antique Omani KHANJAR (also called Jambiya), has an inner wood casing with heavily ornate gilted silver exterior and wire work and handle, 7 rings, woven textile belt with buckle, blade is 7 inches long and sharpened on both edges with a raised middle rib, felted or animal skin on back of scabbard.  This style of dagger is worn in dress by upper class men of Oman and 'J' shaped design of the scabbard is classic and well documented in museum collections.  A fully functional and exquisite showcase artifact weapon from the Middle East and similar items are noted as circa early 1900s. Total length in scabbard is 12 and 1/2 inches, net weight is 1 pound 15 ounces.
