The Mint's West Point penny program has undoubtedly been one of the most sought-after series in 2019, giving collectors the ability to build a special 3-coin set in three different finishes. Previously released were the first ever "W" proof and reverse proof pennies, this third and final release is the only issue struck using regular mint state dies and planchets. Never before has there been a mint state penny struck with a "W" mint mark, making this coin incredibly unique!
Due to the coins being transported in sealed packages from the Mint to the collectors, a very small quantity of pennies are displaying proof-like qualities. What we have available for you is the 2019 W Uncirculated Lincoln Cent that has been certified MS68 PL RD by NGC and awarded the First Day of Issue designation. In addition, the flag label has been hand-signed by the designer of the obverse/reverse images on the penny, Lyndall Bass.
