    Description

1987 Honda CR500.  Regarded as the holy grail of CR500's (or so I've heard...)
Price has been reduced from ,000.  I had a bona fide offer at ,500 which leads me to believe that this is close to the market price, but the buyer backed out...if you are going to make an offer to buy something, please be ready to pull the trigger if the Seller accepts it, or don't make the offer.  Price is firm at this point, any messages with lower offers will not be replied to -- bike will go back into storage for a few years if it does not sell.  Thank you for looking, please read all information below.
I am the original owner of this bike.  However, I do not have a title or MSO for it.
The bike was ridden/raced from about 1987 through 1992.  Rode somewhat after that.  It has not been ridden since about 1995.  A few years back I started to completely disassemble the bike.  My intent was to resto-mod it, and then ride it again.
I had the motor completely rebuilt by a factory motocross race team mechanic with all new OEM bearings and whatever wear parts were needed.  Eric Gorr ported the cylinder and modified the head.  The black paint has been stripped off the motor and it has been polished.  The magnesium water pump was corroded, so we installed a later model aluminum cover.  The Honda Racing ignition and clutch covers were sourced from Sweden.  The frame and subframe was powder coated to match original OEM colors.
All bearings have been replaced (wheel bearings, steering head, swingarm, etc.) along with brake pads and numerous other "small parts" I am probably forgetting.  The suspension, which was originally revalved by Pro Circuit, was rebuilt by Tom Zont Racing (TZR).  The seat cover and plastic are all original.  The bike has been completely gone through from top to bottom.
Mylers radiators have been installed, along with a JD Jetting Kit.  Pro Circuit pipe and stock silencer.
Since being rebuilt, I have not added engine oil or coolant yet.  Basically, the bike has not been started.  I went too far with the restoration and the bike is too nice to be ridden.  I'm confident it will run perfect, but it almost just belongs in a man cave or a museum.
I thought I would keep it for a long time, but I decided to test the waters and see if there is a buyer at my price.  The bike is not perfect, but about as nice and clean as any 1987 CR500 you will ever find out there.
Given that I do not have a title, I don't believe that it can be shipped overseas. Bike will not leave until any funds have 100% cleared.  Any questions, feel free to ask.  Thank you for looking.
