    On offer is a 1900 South Africa - Boer War Marshall Hole 3 Pence Emergency Issue Banknote. The note is graded CU (Choice Uncirculated) 64 by PMG.
    This note carries the Type I Hand Stamp ("Administrator's Office") on its obverse and
    the Type A Stamp (3 Pence) on its reverse
    .
    This note is one of a series issued at Bulawayo, Rhodesia by Hugh Marshall Hole, Government Secretary for Matabeleland and Civil Commissioner for Bulawayo, in response to a wartime shortage of circulating coinage and banknotes. Marshall Hole authorized the issue of cards bearing a postage stamp of the British South Africa Company on their reverse and a hand-stamped signature and validation stamp on their front face. The cards circulated as emergency currency in Rhodesia for two months, between 1 August and 1 October 1900.
